In a heartfelt effort to foster devotion among young Catholics, EWTN Ireland has launched an initiative aimed at encouraging schoolchildren to pray the Rosary during the month of May.

The “Gift a Rosary” campaign invites individuals to donate and nominate primary schools of their choice to receive pairs of rosary beads and associated prayer resources, enriching the spiritual lives of students across the nation.

Give the Gift of the Rosary to an Irish School

As May approaches, a month dedicated to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, this initiative provides a meaningful opportunity for the faithful to support Catholic education and instill a sense of prayerfulness in the hearts of children. Each donation of €50 will ensure that a selected primary school receives a comprehensive Rosary Pack, which includes not only rosary beads but also educational materials about the Mysteries of the Rosary and access to enriching Catholic videos and leaflets.

Aidan Gallagher, CEO of EWTN Ireland, expressed the importance of this initiative, stating, “By gifting a Rosary Pack, we are not just providing resources; we are nurturing a culture of prayer and reflection among our young students, guiding them in their faith journey.” As the need for solid Catholic faith formation becomes more pressing amidst contemporary societal challenges, this program aims to fortify the spiritual foundation of the next generation.

In recent years, hundreds of schools across Ireland have benefitted from similar resources, highlighting the growing demand for faith-based education in a world where harmful ideologies are on the rise. Gallagher remarked, “With the challenges posed by abortion, pornography, and other detrimental influences, it is vital that we equip our children with a strong understanding of their faith.”

Participating in the “Gift a Rosary” initiative is straightforward. Donors can nominate a primary school they wish to support, or, if they prefer, a school can be selected on their behalf while keeping their identity confidential. Once the donation is made, the Rosary Pack will be promptly mailed to the chosen school, allowing students to engage in prayer throughout this sacred month.

Gallagher urged the community to take part in this vital cause, affirming, “Let us come together to gift a Rosary Pack to a primary school, ensuring that our children are anchored in faith and equipped to navigate the challenges of the modern world.
