The Kingship of Christ

EWTN Host Fr. Bernard McCuckian SJ, and experts Fr. Dominic Holtz OP and Fr. Mark Lewis SJ, explore the meaning and origins of the term “kingship” in Sacred Scripture, and examine the nature of Christ’s kingship, its rise to prominence in the 1800s and 1900s, and how His reign continues to be realized in the world today.

Programme 1: The Origin of Kingship in Old & New Testaments

In our 1st program, we examine the concept of kingship in the Old Testament and in the New Testament.

Programme 2: What Type of Kingship

In our 2nd program, we examine the nature of Christ’s kingship and discuss the type of kingship we understand when we contemplate the Kingship of Christ.

Programme 3: How Interest & Devotion grew in the 1800s and 1900s.

In our 3rd episode, we look at how interest and devotion grew in the Kingship of Christ, particularly in the 1800s & 1900s, and examine how the feast came into the church by looking at those who played a part in bringing it about – resulting in the papal encyclical QUAS PRIMAS in 1925.

Programme 4: How is Christ's Kingship being realised today?

In our 4th episode, we examine how the Kingship of Christ is being realized today, within modern culture, thousands of years after His birth.
